Catalpa Flower Farm FLOWER CSA SHARES are made up of a gorgeous mix of specialty cut annual and perennial flowers. These unique flowers are cultivated in Homer, NY on a little less than an acre of land. Each flower subscription is six consecutive weeks long and delivered weekly to your choice of pick up location: Option A) Salt City Market on Tuesdays, Option B) Cortland Beer Company on Thursday's, or Option C) direct from Catalpa Flower Farm on Thursday's . Our CSA is a great way to re-connect with flower varieties uncommonly seen in supermarkets and landscape centers. Bouquets are treated like recipes with a list of custom 'ingredients' each week. We do our best to ensure that no two weeks will be the same. With frequent water changes and one fresh cut of the stems from purchase, bouquets can last 7-14 days.

CSA Exchange Share Option
In addition to the standard share, we're offering a few shares per season in exchange for labor. So, for one hour of your labor each week during the share season, you will receive one bouquet of flowers each week. No money exchanged. These are specific tasks that have flexibility depending on your employment, family care needs, transportation, skill set, etc. For example, if you work evenings you could choose the Monday Shift option and come to the farm every Monday morning at 8am to harvest. Vice versa, if you worked during the day you could come every evening at 7pm to wrap bouquets (and take yours home). If you want to split the shift with a friend or parnter, kid or parent you could do that, too. Share options are as follows:

Single Season Share Exchange Options
Monday Shift: Harvesting, Bouquet Wrapping and Arranging (and weeding), 1 hr
Thursday Shift: Harvesting, Bouquet Wrapping and Arranging (and weeding), 1 hr
Saturday Shift: Washing Buckets, Composting and Deadheading Flowers (and weeding), 1 hr

Full Season Share Exchange Option
Marketing Shift: Creating Weekly Flower Infographic, 1hr

Feel Good Flowers Share
Flowers are given during all sorts of occasions to bring comfort and joy. As we've gotten to know our community over the last few years we've learned that a number of CSA members buy flowers for their loved ones: whether it be a new mom, a grandparent in a nursing home, a friend going through chemo treatment, or a sister battling depression. When I started this, I was able to provide a very dear friend of mine flowers a couple of times a week for her mom in hospice. I knew from the beginning that I'd like to continue to show that grace to members of my community, so we are offering two heavily discounted shares per season. You'll see these two options in the Spring, Summer, and Fall CSA shares when you choose your pick-up location.

Spring CSA Exchange

$0.00

Sold out

This is a fairly simple barter of flowers for labor. During each season, in exchange for a weekly bouquet, you can help me do a variety of tasks on the farm. The tasks are specific, repeateable and required each week to ensure a successful growing and harvest season. Based on your availability and physicality, you have a few options to choose from.

Monday or Thursday Shift: You can designate the hour of your time harvesting in the morning; or you can designate the hour of your time arranging and bouquet wrapping in the evening.

Saturday Shift: This hour shift of bucket washing, composting flowers and deadheading can happen anytime between 7am-2pm.

I will host an hour long introduction with each group of CSA Exchange members prior to the beginning of each season. We will tour the farm and structures and review the tasks and schedule required to participate. This is a working farm and this exchange is meant for individuals who enjoy working in the outdoors in the elements.
